CIB seven in the iX-Magazine
In its current December issue, iX magazine (Heise Verlag) reports on CIB seven and praises the platform as an independent, future-proof product and a reliable open source alternative to Camunda 7. The magazine dedicated an article to our fork when it was launched in November 2024. One year later, a new article by iX editor Achim Born highlights that CIB seven's current release 2.1 includes all the features of Camunda 7.24 – including modern user interfaces, enterprise options, and a clear development strategy.
The focus is also on the new process analysis with CIB ins7ght and a Marketplace planned for 2026.

Why companies are switching from Camunda 7 to CIB seven
Camunda 7 CE End-of-Life
After version 7.24, the Community Edition of Camunda 7 will no longer receive updates, security patches, or maintenance. This poses a risk to critical business processes.
Process analysis and optimization
The integrable analysis tool CIB ins7ght can be used to analyze processes, identify bottlenecks, and increase efficiency.
Full compatibility based on open source
CIB seven is an open-source fork of Camunda 7. It is compatible with all existing processes, models, and APIs, so companies do not have to rewrite their processes.
With hotfixes and long-term support
LTS support was introduced with CIB seven 2.0. Companies can choose between the Community+, LTS, and Enterprise options.
Enterprise features and improvements
CIB seven Enterprise offers all the features of Camunda 7 EE. Even the open source version, CIB seven Community, has a modern and improved task list, a cockpit, and an administration interface.
Marketplace
The planned marketplace for add-ons will enable companies to easily expand functionality without having to rely on Camunda.
